"Holding on to Blue" Note to color: the Blue/Violet of the Pansy is more of a violet color(and richer)in the painting than what is showing up on my computer monitor. The camera never does my artwork justice...there are just too many beautiful little nuances that the sensitive marvelous human eye perceives and distinguishesbut not the mechanical lens of a camera.

I wanted to paint a painting the used very little color except for the Rose, where the color is allowed to glow with a richness that I would be unable to get under regular circumstances. These partial monochromatic paintings are one of the most enjoyable to do and I think it is nice to let people know the underlying concept for the painting.
Trained in the classical style, "Edmondson brings Old Master painting into the modern using contemporary themes and expressive brushwork. Edmondson's masterful handling of paint is a combination of light and shadow with nuances of broken color. In painting portrait and figure, still life, and landscape; there is a keen sense of richness of color, balance and movement in his work. His dramatic use of light captivates your eye as you wander through the painting."
