I wanted to paint a painting the used very little color except for the Rose, where the color is allowed to glow with a richness that I would be unable to get under regular circumstances. These partial monochromatic paintings are one of the most enjoyable to do and I think it is nice to let people know the underlying concept for the painting.

Learn the fundamentals of painting in a fun, no pressure environment. Paint along with the instructor, one on one instruction and demonstrations. We will learn about the artist’s materials, composition, mood, atmosphere, color mixing, movement, design, and just how to have fun with paint. This class will go through the entire painting process from start to finished paintings you will be proud to hang. We will learn how to set up simple and complex still life paintings. We will then paint these paintings from start to completion using expressive colors and brushwork. This class covers setting up models to completed expressive painting. This class will focus having fun while we master the fundamentals and develop your own unique singular style. We will also cover Gallery representation and shows so we can sell our masterpieces. About the Artist

Trained in the classical style, Daniel Edmondson brings Old Master painting into the modern using contemporary themes and expressive brushwork. Edmondson's masterful handling of paint is a combination of light and shadow with nuances of broken color. In painting portrait and figure, still life, and landscape; there is a keen sense of richness of color, balance and movement in his work. His dramatic use of light captivates your eye as you wander through the painting.

Daniel lives in Fort Collins, Colorado with his family. Daniel has studied at the Palette and Chisel in Chicago, the Loveland Academy of Fine Art , University of Colorado at Boulder, the Fechin Institute in Taos, New Mexico, the Scottsdale Artists School in Scottsdale, Arizona, The Arts Students League in Denver, Colorado.

Daniel currently teaches studio classes in light and shadow painting. He has won numerous awards in exhibitions and museum shows. Look for his paintings at one of the fine galleries that represent his work.
